East Point Reserve
Darwin NT
Australia
1989 to 1994

This is the most popular hangout for the locals in Darwin. Just a short drive from the city, this reservation offers barbecue and picnic facilities, beaches, and a completely unAmerican feature: free parking.

I remember one tourist brochure describes sunsets at Eastpoint--in the typical touristy exaggeration--as a "million-dollar view".

This is one of my attempts to get a "silhouetty" picture. The best one is featured in the Photo Gallery ("Silhouettes II").

another totally alien concept Americans will find very hard to imagine: beautiful beaches stretching for miles that are open to the public but seemingly unadulterated by human presence
