February 1988

I was sent here in the Indonesian capital to do some software installation in early 1988 for a week's duration.

Click on flag to listen to Indonesia's national anthem: Indonesia Raya.

The National Monument along Jakarta's main thouroughfare Jalan Thamrin.

At the basement of the monument. At that time, there was a long line of waiting for the elevator ride to the top (the flame), so I never got to the top.

I was there!

in Dunia Fantasi ("Fantasy World"), Indonesia's premiere theme park

this Dunia Fantasi looks and feels very much like an American theme park, except for the signs in their language

Stamps I used to mail Rosalie. Soeharto of course has since joined the club of toppled ex-dictators!
